SingCham Shanghai is pleased to welcome Tim Wang, Chairman and CEO at General Water Technology (Hong Kong) Co Ltd, to our Corporate members list.

Tim Wang is co-founder and chairman of General Water Technology Co. Ltd (GWT). General Water Technology brings innovated” Water As a Service (WaaS)” business model and cutting edge technology to revolutionize the way people drink water, while reducing plastic pollutions from single use bottle water. GWT’s received strategic investments from GE and top tier PE firms including Gaocheng Capital, GGV and SourceCode.          

Prior to starting GWT, Tim served as CEO & President of Canature Group, a public listed company in China and a global leader in the residential water filtration industry. During his tenure in Canature Group, Tim led a dramatic global expansion and significant growth of the company.

Tim began his career at General Electric Company (GE), working through product management, corporate audit and corporate M&A functions. Tim also worked for Crouse-Hinds (an Eaton Company) as global VP and general manager for Asia Pacific region. Tim spent eight years in Ecolab, a global leader in water management, food safety and public hygiene, with progressive responsibilities as VP global strategy, and EVP and president, Greater China region.

Tim is a fellow of Aspen China Fellowship Program, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He serves as a director of the China Health Inspection Association and China Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Tim received his MBA degree from Harvard Business School with high distinction (Baker Scholar). He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees with honor in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Joey joined Robert Half in 2008 after several years working in the banking and media sectors across the Asia market. He moved to China in 2016 to lead Robert Half’s Shanghai team and became China’s Country Lead in 2019.

The company’s employees take great care to provide high quality service to clients, he says.  Secondly, Joey said Robert Half hires highly capable industry experts. Finally, Robert Half makes it a goal to recognize and reward employees’ success.

The most rewarding part of Joey’s work is making a genuine difference in other people’s lives. The process of meeting someone, working with them, and building a highly successful professional relationship has been very fulfilling. Joey has made lasting friendships through this process.

During his free time, Joey enjoys playing golf and soccer. His favorite team in the Premier League is Liverpool, although he also enjoys watching the MLS teams LA Galaxy and Inter Miami CF, or as he calls it, ‘Beckham Miami.’

By joining the Chamber, Joey hopes to create connections with other businesses, establish relationships with business leaders, and exchange and share industry insights with other members.

In charge of overall operational business of BEBIG Medical. Mr. George Chan, Singaporean, has gained extensive experience of more than 20 years in medical device industry at international companies such as 3M Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, and TCL Healthcare Equipment, He was the President of Siemens Healthineers Greater China, managing more than 7,000 employees, 3 production factories, 47 branches, over 30,000 installations in over 10,000 hospitals and wining the largest market share with turnover 1.8 billion Euros. George holds a biochemistry degree from National University of Singapore and completed executive programs at INSEAD.

Health care is a global issue – one that George thinks about every day. “It’s a driver every morning when I wake up,” he says. “How do we make health care affordable?” George has one big ambition: he wants to save lives.
