On March 25, 2024, a remarkable gathering illuminated the dynamic sphere of accounting and legal professionals in Singapore. The session commenced with an opening speech by Mr. Huang Fei, Director of the Singapore Enterprise Centre in Shanghai, who addressed the critical issues of carbon neutrality, peak carbon emissions, and sustainable development. Mr. Huang’s remarks not only set the tone for the session but also underscored the urgency and importance of these issues against the global backdrop. He particularly highlighted the pivotal role of businesses in achieving these ambitious goals and emphasized the significant synergistic effect of cooperation between Singapore and China in advancing sustainable development.

Following Mr. Huang, the session transitioned to an enlightening presentation by Mr. William Chang, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General of SingCham Shanghai. Mr. Chang delved into the importance of fostering mutual understanding and cooperation for sustainable development, offering deep insights into the strategic connections between Singaporean enterprises and the Chinese market, and highlighting the symbiotic relationship that is crucial for growth.

继黄主任之后，迎来了中国新加坡商会-上海副会长兼秘书长曾广仁先生的启发性演讲。曾先生深入探讨了促进相互理解与合作对于可持续发展的重要性，他的见解深刻地分析了新加坡企业与中国市场之间的战略联系，突出了这一共生关系对于双方成长的重要性。

Following, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law Professor Adolf Peter captivated the audience with his analysis of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and its impacts on Chinese and Asian companies. His presentation inspired reflection on the broader implications of EU regulations, encouraging strategic thinking among the attendees.
