HELP DISADVANTAGED WOMEN GET BACK ON THEIR FEET
Singapore Day 2019
President’s Challenge Charity Fundraising Campaign
Calling all fellow Singaporeans! We are just two weeks shy of SG Day 2019, yet we have barely reached 20% of our SGD50,000 target for the SG Day 2019 President’s Challenge Fundraising Campaign. To date, we have only raised SGD6,015 out of SGD50,000 target amount. We would like to call upon every Singaporean within our community to pledge their support in helping us to meet the target. Funds raised will be channeled to help our Senior Citizens and the disadvantaged women in Singapore. Let us all come together as a community to help make Singapore a caring and inclusive society for all for the benefit of our future generations!
Building Livelihoods for Women in Need
Based on the Ministry of Social and Family Development statistics, more than 25,000 women from low-income families in Singapore are struggling to find and sustain a living. By helping women secure employment, we are helping them become economically independent so that they can take control of their lives and the life chances of their family.
Many are single mothers. By equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to improve their employability, these women can provide a better future for their children and break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage within their family. This will benefit the wider community by increasing employment and reducing welfare dependency.
Let us all come together in the spirit of the Little Red Dot and reach out and lend a helping hand to those in need!
We rise by uplifting others

Empowering Women, Improving Lives
Suparmi
Suparmi was an Indonesian who married a Singaporean and had 2 wonderful girls. However, tragedy struck when her husband passed away suddenly, leaving her with 2 young girls. With little education, she was left helpless and lost.
Fortunately, her Social Worker introduced her to DOT where she found support and guidance. She actively attended DOT's programmes, gaining much confidence along the way. She picked up basic English speaking skills and steer her way on from working in foodcourt to working in a cafe. Recently, she attained permanent residentship in Singapore, allowing her to be with her girls.
Kate Rose
Kate Rose was forced to grow fast with the adversities thrown at her from young. She faced a difficult environment of betrayal and unsupportive family and people around her. She became a single mother of one at a young age. She moved in relatives and learnt that nothing matches to a home of our own. She also struggled to work full-time and care for her young son. She was often worried about her child's well-being at the care of others and felt guilty for not being able to spend much time with the young boy.
She found hope when her Social Worker referred her to DOT. Today, thanks to DOT’s Core and Stable Scheduling program, she works part-time at Sephora as a Beauty Advisor. This initiative allows her to provide for her son and spend more time with him. Recently, she moved into her own rental flat too.
